My last car was a 2.9 Scorpio Cosworth. Without question, this is the most comfortable car I've ever driven. The leather seats were soooooooooooooooo comfy and the leather is as soft as a baby's bum.

I sold it because it was even more expensive to run than my Omega  :o.

Problem was Chevette had no middle engine options, also the Sunbeam top model was still more powerful.

I have seen a turbo one too :o

vx in their wisdom put stromberg carbs ,cast iron manifold,points ignition on the hs.lotus put 45 dellortos,tubular steel manifold,electronic ignition on the sunbeam.my hs had 48 dellortos,blydenstien manifold,lumenition ignition (approx.175 bhp) .it was quiet a bit quicker than lotus sunbeams,happy days. :)

Father in law is a BWM mechanic from the old school, he specialises in these and 2002Tii's

Sounds fun - I think the suspension as standard was better on the HS but the Lotus with a slight lower and ges struts was better.

The 2.2 was detuned to about 150 - 155bhp but quite a few are around 200 now.

Come to think of it how many of todays hatches would you have over an HS or Lotus
