Years supply of oil?
« on: 09 May 2012, 14:15:07 »

Just rang up to order some SL shocks for MotherT's estate, first price of £101 on "trade" was the best they could do, asked them to check the book, £75+vat! Much better.

But at same time, told about an offer, 199L if 10/40 for £250, works out at £1.25 a litre, compared to it normally being around £2 ish. (on the 4 for 3 5L bottles)

Temping, but thats a lot of money in one barrel!  ;D

Why would you want to buy 10 years worth of oil? ;D  You might die later on. Does oil have a shelf life once opened?

Hardly 10 years for us, maybe 2 at a push. With 4 Omegas, get through that quite quickly!

Four oil changes per year, per car?

About right, when I was doing big miles mine would get changed every couple of months. Used to do the others for good measure. 4 pots in particular liked fresh oil, noticeable difference in smoothness. Don't really notice it that much on V6.

Add in the occasional certain admin popping around for an oil change, in the since deceased Rover.
