The list of error codes here http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=90583.0

lists it as

P0340       Camshaft Sensor Incorrect Signal

The 4 cylinder engines do seem to be prone to camshaft sensor failure. Replace it with a genuine Vauxhall/Opel sensor. The pattern ones don't seem to last 5 minutes.

The idle speed should be quite low (about 650rpm IIRC for a 4 cylinder). Fix the misfire and it will idle smoothly :y

Erratic tickover ..... Is there an idle control valve  on the car? Could be that that's sticking :-\ Induction air leaks?

If it does work you`ve still got a fault code for the cam sensor

Agree with Rob, both codes will probably be caused by the failing/failed cam sensor.  Buy a genuine one, from a Vauxhall dealership (none of the online spares shops sell genuine ones, though they try hard to give that impression).
PM or phone member andyc on here for the best price for a genuine one, he's a very helpful parts geezer at just such a Vx dealership.

If after you've got rid of the codes, you still have trouble with cutting out, it'll be in your interests to read and act upon this thread: http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=90586.0

Now that you have a new idle valve you won't need to clean that out, but the small breather jet referred to in Grumpy's guide is also very important on the 2.0s.

Good luck with it.
