I knew this had been coming for a while but still it doesn't help when it eventually does occur.
Mine and Anna's thoughts and sympathies are with you both.
You know where we are if you need anything ;)

sincere condolences, know what you are going through, its awful

 Im expecting this shortly meself,
my father is also 85 can barely move out of his wheelchair,is a proud ex navy man, absolutley refuses to go into a care home, hates the hospital as he is sure he wont come out, doctors refuse to come to him now,
has liver disease, full blown type 1 diabetes, lost use of legs virtually, his feet are enormous and has no feeling in them(myopathy?)   cataracts in both eyes, almost deaf,
yet his heart and lungs are fine its just the rest that is completely knackered,
way back in 65 he actually won the court case for him to bring up 5 children on his own, which was unheard of in those days, stopped us all going to a childrens home, had 3 jobs to keep us all together, never complained once, so i have the utmost respect for him,but he refuses to help himself in anyway at all by going to the hospital,he says his time is up and dont regret a minute of his life,

Having had first hand experience (still waiting for an all clear), I know just how shitty a disease that cancer can be and the grief it can bring.

So sorry to hear of your loss, and our thoughts are with you at this time.

Byron, Pam and family, we are so sorry to hear about this news, but Byron explained last time I saw him that his Dad was not of good health.
Although expected it still comes as a shock as I found out with my Dad.
Jan and I send you our best wishes and Byron if you need to talk or rant please feel free to call!
Jay sends his sympathies to Casper!
Even though they have not met yet, Amber sends her condolences to Casper as well.
(Amber is a new pup we have adopted. She is the same colour as Jay and is a Greyhound Labrador cross.)

His pictures tell me of a strong tough man but equally as loving & caring to those close to him. My Dad's nearly 82 & sadly fading physically although he's on the ball mentally. It did'nt help his decline when we lost Mum suddenly @ only 71 after a short & cruel illness last July so i share your grief. He seemed to be a good proud man & you are right to be proud of him. I have nothing but respect & admiration for what men & women of thier generation went through.

  Mum left us this.:-

I'd like the memory of me
      to be a happy one.
I'd like to leave an after glow
of smiles when life is done.
I'd like to leave an echo
  Whispering softly down the ways,
     of happy times and laughing
       times and bright and
          summer days.
I'd like the tears of those who
grieve to dry before the sun,
Of happy memories that i leave
       When life is done.
