I think I filled up with Dex-Cool stuff last time I did a rad flush... Might be popping down to the local motor factors later on for another bottle and some fresh antifreeze.

I think the current GM red stuff is an OAT coolant so probably the same stuff and we've been using it for long enough without problems.

The issues appear to relate to systems running low on coolant anyway, so no issue if you keep it maintained properly.

IIRC OAT coolant is not great for cars that are frequently laid-up for long periods, because it can support algae growth. Plenty of urban myths around, though, so take your pick.

I assumed dex-cool was a rebrand, but this looked slightly different pink.

That said, dex-cool has only, AFAIK, been here a yeAr or so, any link is at least 2 years old.

Guess dex-cool is just a trademark being intro'd here for GM fluids../
