mycarcheck?
« on: 17 May 2012, 16:09:19 »

Just been having a look to see how little money I have in my churchmouse Nationwide bank acct.

WTF! on the 8th Mar and the 9th March £14.95 went out.

Obviously a mistake but presumably in the first instance I need to write(electronically) to Nationwide.? Might be something tied up with a letter saying a Branch in Bromsgrove is closing and your nearest branches are:..... haven't been to Bromsgrove for about 15years and hope never to go again.

Did you ever use their services (mycarcheck)? If not, call the bank's fraud number, ASAP.

No, never heard of them till today (I lead a sheltered life) but have just contacted the bank. They are investigating. :o :o

A work colleague, and the guy who looks after the OOF server when I'm not around, had his Amex scammed a few years back - they were ordering lots and lots of flights, including flights that were happening at same time, but different destinations.  Amex didn't detect until they ordered a SleazyJet flight, as that is 'unusual' behaviour for Amex punters ;D

I've had it myself - only realised when I checked my voicemails and had one from Argos concerning my delivery I'd ordered... "what delivery?" said I. About £400 worth of stuff, they were excellent, as were my bank, and the local police too.

the last prob i had with them was when i asked for a final figure on my mortgage and they claimed that i was calling the wrong bank and they did'nt have a mortgage on my house (which they did have)....in the end i asked for that in writing ...i am still waiting.... :y

Stop paying the mortgage, you'll soon get plenty of correspondance.   ;D
