3.2 and 3.0 ecu
« on: 18 May 2012, 18:36:42 »

hi all im new to the forum
just a few questions.....
the 3.2 and 3.0 ecu.... are they the same? i.e. could you run a 3.0 on the 3.2 ecu? as i know the 3.2 is FBW and the 3.0 is cable.
can you get poly bushed front engine mounts? i read somewhere that vx220 ones fit and there harder?
many thanks
phil

Nope.
Yep. Use these if you want to maintain "flex" in the mount

Use these for a stiffer no flex effect
http://www.vibra-technics.co.uk/vauxhall/vx220_speedster/613/VXL102MX/left_and_right_engine_mount

Both types will give very slight vibration through the chassis.

Be aware, if fitting the solid (competition) mount, blipping throttle in bends will cause backend stepout

You could probably run a 3.0 on a 3.2 ECU and vice versa but you'd have to swap all the ancillaries and engine wiring loom over.

thanks for your replys guys, im actully going to be putting the 3.2 in a vectra b and running all the 2.5 auxilirys but id like to do away with the 2.5 ecu and run the 3.2 one, so if i was to get the loom from a 3.2 omega and ecu etc... do you think it would work? is the loom diffrent to a 3.0 one?
many thanks

forgetting the CAN problems for a sec, would a Vec-C GSi be a better donor? Then you have the intakes for the 3.2 that stand more chance of fitting, and an ECU less likely to moan about missing multirams.  Not to mention exhaust downpipes and so on...

the vec c intakes dont fit there 2 high. all the 2.5 manifolds and that will bolt straight onto the 3.2 block and heads.
looks like im using the 3.0 loom and ECU then get it mapped to suit

am i right in thinking the vectra and the omega loom will be very similar as in have the same plugs for tps...egr...etc.... the only diffrence will be how long the loom is on the vectra over the omega as the omega one doesnt have loom running along the cambelt cover for the cams sensor/o2 sensor and crank sensor.
