I guess it all depends if its touring your doing or driving to a camp site ...touring you would always be with the motorhome and not on a permanent site ... im guessing its ok to park up with a motorhome in a layby overnight  :-\

Yeah, moving on every day is where I could really see a motorhome come into its' own.. and probably why they are so popular in places such as the US and Canada, where you can spend a long time enjoying a journey without ever arriving anywhere.

Towing is a nasty experience though, having over a ton of weight behind you saps all the fun out of driving. Towing a caravan you get shite mpg, ugly things, environmentally unfriendly plastic tins that hold everyone up on a country lanes. Lease with a motorhome, it drives like a delivery van so no holding people up, easily get 30mpg out it. Stick some cycles on the back to explore...

Caravans you have to have stored somewhere, more cash, and at the end of the week you have to empty your own shite! Not my idea of a holiday!

Tent + 90mph cruise down to where ever. Posh it up, stay in a hotel.

Only just noticed this. I would go for the motorhome. It's gonna burn better cause it's got fuel in it  :y

Doesn't take long. A little practice it it becomes quite easy .... until you change the towing car for one of a different length wheelbase

A rush being more than 50mph  ::)

Tent + bike is best combination, 55mpg, zip past motorhomes, caravans the lot. Straight to front of queues, really enjoy ride there. Set up camp, and can still explore.

Spend money saved on fuel on a nice pub meal and a few beers, hoping to do a trip this week, as weather reports look good  :)
