Is this a genuine member?
« on: 22 May 2012, 20:28:30 »

http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=3757.0
If so why is the username highlighted in black here on my desktop & on the lappy i still can't log in on.  This is'nt me & the name may be pure coincidence but i've not been able to log in on my lappy for a year or two now despite PM'ing admins who tell me my new password whuch never works & now tell me to use the forgotten password option as they can't make my original password or the "new" one they gave me work.

It's like asking a politician to give a straight answer to a question they don't like. I got my post count reinstated after leaving & rejoining but then had 10,000 knocked off which they "can't" put back despite being able to take them away. I don't care about those now but can one of you who run this site stop messing about, no more flannel try this try that rersponses & PM me whatever password it is you actually want me to use.

Call me what you like, i don't mind in the slightest just let me know what you want the password to be & i'll go with it & no more tekky answers as to why you can't please. If you can take it away then you can put it back so stop peeing up my back & telling me it's raining. Whatever i did i must've paid for it by now????? ::)

Guy.  Check the date of the first post in the thread then read the dates of the ones following.  An old thread has been resurected and, given the dates, the thread originally is one of yours on your old account which now shows as 'guest' as you deleted yourself way back then.

As regards probs logging in on another machine, I can't see where your error is.  No one is pissing up your back, there must be some complication somewhere.  If you log in with your email addy and password, does that make any difference?  I recall some probs with user ID's when we moved onto this new software which needed your correct, original, username to be used and not whatever it is now showing as.

I'm off out for a bit and will try and have a looik for you when I get back in a couple of hours but be assured, no one is pulling your plonker.   :y

Note, that user is a 'Guest'. ie, no longer exists. Because you deleted it in a hissy fit ;)

Your user name is "Magic_Tree", I assume in order to take the piss out of my misfortunes with the MOT tester ;D

I can't tell you your password. It would be a pretty insecure system if I could.  You need to use "forgotten password" feature, as neither me or anyone else can retrieve your password.

Thankyou "B" & TB"! Sorry for the magic tree thing but you did ask for it! That was a long time ago, if you can change it back then surely you can put it right now? I am "Amigo"...nothing else to do with trees or otherwise. PC's for me are a plaything, i don't sit behind one all day so i still don't know anymore than ebay, youtube, that gay dating site that is facebook & have zero knowledge of proper computing...i'm a surfer that's it but surely those that run the forum can make simple adjustments so i can log in on the lappy please?

I'm not being stroppy like i know i have in the past been & my knickers are not in the slightest bit twisted...mmmmm... but i used to be able to log on anywhere & would like to again please Sweetie XXX :-* :-* :-*

I know PCs "aren't your thing" but I'll try to explain...

On OOF (currently) you have:
A Display Name. Everyone sees this, and you can change at will. Yours is Amigo
A Logon Name. This is used for logging on only, and cannot be changed by anyone. I think only Admin can see. Yours is Magic_Tree
An email address. This is obviously private. Admin can see it though.
A Password. This is obviously private. Nobody, Admin included, can see it. Its stored encrypted.

To log on, you need:
Logon Name OR Email Address
     AND
Password

We (Admins) can help you with your email and logon names, but simply cannot tell you your password. We simply do not have access to it.

All you can do is, from the PC that can't log on, use the 'Forgotten Password' link on the login page.

Does that make sense?
