Oven heating element
« on: 05 June 2012, 16:41:08 »

Anybody any knowledge on how to change the heating element in a fan oven ? looks like ours has packed up ,no fuses gone and everything works as it should apart from no heat. The elements themselves are pretty cheap, under £20 in most cases ,just need to know where the thing is,at the panel at the back of the oven or is it an oven out job and start dismantling the casing, any oven experts out there ?   ???

Replacement procedures do vary - some are side-off, some are back-off.

almost certainly there is an access panel somewhere to change the element - if it is a built in oven, expect 2 or 4 screw in the front and slide it out.

if you can work on a car then changing an oven element is childs play!

Got it stripped out, a combination of taking off the plate in the oven and taking off the back panel, just need to find a spares shop in Newcastle now!

I'm shit out of ESP tonight, so post back the make & model number and we'll take the oven element replacement procedure from there.

You could try Electromode in Newburn or 'espares' online.

There is a shop near to the Entrance to Eldon Square Leisure(outside) that could help. Sorry I am unable to remember the name :-[
