Halfords Oil Offer
« on: 11 June 2012, 11:43:09 »

What are peoples thoughts on the Halfords Castrol Oil offer:

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/SearchCmd?catalogId=10151&storeId=10001&categoryId=165744&langId=-1&action=listrefine&scope=inl||partnumber||3||918672||918615||224209&constraints=sor||Price||1&cm_re=Category+Pages-_-HOME+PAGE-_-R1

Is this oil any good for Omegas?
I usually only use GM oil, but are quite tempted.
I read somewhere that GM adds additives to the oil to help protect the engine - wonder if this oil has the same level of protection.

Great if you like loads of mayo on the oil filler neck  ;)
Castrol oils seem to be a bitch for it  :(

Stick to gm semi synth if you can get hold of a trade club card tbh  :y

Way too expensive for a substandard oil. Stick to GM at about £12 for 5l (not 4l like Castrol) if you have access to Tradeclub.

Not recomended.
Poor protection against mayo and condensation in the engine over short journeys. Massively expensive for what it is.

Trace club vx oil 20 litres about £35 ...iirc.

OK Cheers,
Just looked at the price and got tempted.  ::)

But as usual - Authentic GM parts are the way to go.
