True, but, at risk of repeating the studio pundits, England did show some relaxed play near the end. Simple passing, but effective. Almost confident.

Confidence being no1 concern IMO. And when I hear that Loro idiot writing the team off in front of the nation before the game is even finished, it's no wonder confidence is on the floor.

Hodgeson has a good angle on the problem IMO. If I was him I'd be on the phone bollocking a few studio "experts"!

He made the right calls in the game, when it started to go pear shape he reacted. Saw some impressive elements, but they were few, countless times we lost possession due to a poor pass, a better side like Italy/Spain, will really punish us when that happens again

A win is a win...

...but we looked unconvincing once we were a goal up, and Sweden stepped it up a gear.

When we get through to the knockout stages the first game will likely be against Spain or Italy. :(

Best book the flights home now, unless they really up their game :(

This one touch passing the ball about in our half of the midfield, really winds me up!!  >:( As they inevitably lose it and end up defending really deep or they pass back to the goalie to lump up front where possession gets lost anyway!!!  >:(  Although Lawrenson seemed to think thats the way to play international football.  I think he said something like '... as long as you keep possession, it dosn't matter if you get jeered for passing back to the keeper...'  :(

I'd much rather they showed abit of ambition and ran with the ball!  ::)  Remember that skill called dribbling? I think that most of the England lads seem to have forgotten....  :-\

Both the second and third goals came from the younger players who were prepared to 'av-a-go' ie Walcott & Welbeck  and IMO they'll need to show much more of that to get past the Germans, Italians, Portugese or Spanish....  :-\

It'll be interesting to see how/if Rooney fits in to the picture on Tuesday!!!  :-\ ??? ::)

Totally agree, I suspect though he will be brought on first half, prove totally useless as normal. Be substituted before or during second half, when i bet we've not scored.

We really need to spank the Ukraine if we are to have any hope to progress...

All the hype about Rooney back in the side tonight makes him sound like he's some kind of messiah to English football........which he ain't!
Brilliant for Man United but as soon as he pulls an England shirt on, he's as average as the rest of the team. ::) Sincerely hope I'm wrong on this occassion and I'll still be rooting for them.......COME ON ENGLAND!!! :y
