2.0ltr exhaust on 2.2
« on: 18 June 2012, 10:28:39 »

Hi all

I am thinking of replacing my exhaust with a 2.0ltr one, because of the price.
Would this affect the performance in any way?.
Also would a non approved cat make a difference?, as they are also a lot cheaper.

Y reg 2.2 CDX

Cheers Glyn

2.0 ltr fits straight on, no effect on performance. What`s wrong with your existing cat

Hi RobG

I replaced the flexi joint a couple of years ago but now the pipe has rotted away
from the welds.

Aftermarket cats are a bit shite. If you go for a "non-approved" type it will depend on how clued up the MOT tester is next time you`re due ;) Yours being a "Y" plate not sure whether you`re just in or just outside of the regs regarding "type approved"

Just outside
I should fit an approved one but they are a fair bit more.
I just wondered if I got one would it affect the performance or emissions
test in any way.

You`ll always be taking a gamble on any aftermarket cat regards emissions
