there has been an unhealthy amount of "ooohh , look , an unattended woman, gawkery" , and a certain amount of deliberate provocation....... towards a number of female members over the years, i'm somewhat less than entirely surprised we have so few. it's , according to my mrs, obvious, tacky, and off-putting....
that said, one or two, HAVE been guilty of throwing unreasonably large tantrums , for what , at least on the surface, appeared insignificant events...
Lizzie among them, ..... dunno about the leaving but she threw a complete wobbler at me , once or maybe twice... in essence , because i didn't agree with her, and said so, and backed my argument up... the whys and wherefores are long , and probably best, forgotten, i certainly never bore a grudge about it as such, but i won;t forget it in hurry either.... .... so it does rankle slightly when it's implied that she was always without fault....
the same applies to another lady ex member who seemingly goes ape at a "terribly sorry old boy, I am a little tired" .... a mercurial tongue that i felt the sharp end of on more than one occasion.... also, i felt slightly unreasonably....
that said, she was mightily provoked further.... IMHO.... and the entire incident a shameful waste of everyones time and effort, and too few were free of some culpability , even if innocently accidental....
it's the same in many tech forums , so it's not like it's omega specific, i've found as a former admin of a moderately large (80k+) unique IP/user registrations tech forum, that the majority of female members simply didn't admit to it..... in order to avoid the "oooohhh look a chick" effect
