Just ordered a flexi joint for my cat exhaust, what should i expect when after i've soaked the bolts with wd40 and left for a while and then expecting to have problems with removing the bolts and then problems re-fitting it

Are the bolts made from cheese and will fall to bits or ok to use again  
If not, does anyone know which bolts i need to get BEFORE i try taking it off lol lol

Use Plusgas or another penetrating oil rather tha WD40, WD40 is better than nothing ..... but only just! 
I've never worked on a 4 cylinder, but the bolts on a V6 ar M8 x 20/25

We knew it was either a 2.0 or a 2.2          a V6 doesn't have a flexi joint in its exhaust.

Lot of space around 2.2 exhaust manifold, both times I've done it bolts have released fine. Lots of extension bars needed, use a wobble bar at the top.

Right, when to do it ??

A) whilst at work and it's sunny and dry  (need car for work)

Having had to replace my exhaust manifold this past weekend, go for the rain option. I'd much rather estimate it to take an hour and a half or so to do over the weekend than try and do it in a lunch break in work.

Because of knackered threads etc and studs coming out, mine took the sum total of nearly 8 hours to do. Taking the bolts out for the downpipe isn't too bad. As others have said you need plenty of extensions and as tunnie said, a wobble bar at the top because you WON'T get a straight socket on.

Thats the full manifold.

Front pipe normaly is MUCH easier and as posted above, the op states that the front pipe nuts came off ok.

Just been under the car to spray all the bolts etc, while it's not raining 

Can't see any problem taking the 2 bolts out of the end section of the cat exhaust, but looking at the manifold end, 4 bolts, yes got lots of extender bars, it looks like 2 of the bolts you just loosen (do you twist loose when un-done ??) n the other 2 bolts you remove ??
Is it best to remove manifold heat shield as well
