Hi Peoples  :)

my car is showing MPG of 31 - 34 mpg on the dash, surely for a 2.5 V6 Gas Guzzler this aint right?
normally drive most places on motorways and do no faster than 65 - 70mph

if the MPG is correct, that's bloody good! lol
then again, putting £20 here and there seems to vanish in no time at all!

i still got the Orange EML appearing, will go and do paper clip test tomorrow

MPG sounds a bit low for motorway cruising. I get about 37-38mpg on long runs

yeah, i get 37-38mpg on motorways, but normally lower when combined with the A roads and a bit of town driving, so averaging 31 - 34

yeah, if it's an average sounds about right... maybe a bit high.

21-25 in town (depending on your driving tyle) and 37-38 on the motorway

If its mainly Motorway and not above 70 I would expect a bit more than that, my old 3.0 MV6 would 36 - 38 mpg in that mode.

I tend to find the MID's mpg display to be fairly good, where as the NCDC Mpg always seems way out for me.

As soon as you drop off the motorway into traffic they plummet, though, especially if auto.

"i never realised that the bigger engines are actually pretty economical"...

Yep !    Smaller engines need to work harder to get the big 2 ton lumps moving.

Honestly, not a lot in it right across the range as long as you drive nicely.....SO "bang for yer bucks".....3.0/3.2's are the way to go imho !

Will never go back to a 4 pot now !

I live in the country and dont see a lot of motorway driving tbh. I collected the car from nottingham and had to drive to holyhead then dublin to omagh and I was avg 37 mpg on that run. My speed was well up on this run as well cos I was racing for the boat as usual. Lately as I'm not on motorway much or long runs I'm still getting 31mpg which I'm happy with as my 2.2 astra was doing the same. If you want much better than 30mpg u need a diesel and I personally dont like tractors  :y :y

my 2.2 auto returns around 35-38mpg on the motorway and 25mpg around town, so its ok.

my 2.5 is going in the kit car, so mpg is not an issue, kit will only weigh around 650kgs so it should have enough pull in it !

X30 doing 42mpg in Ascona!

MV6 X30 does 32 on a run, 23.6-27 on hilly country stuff.
MV6 On Friday going straight on a run. Last Y26SE in a Vectra I had did 38 average. Assuming the 2.6 Mig will be slightly less?

I get about 300 out of a tank before the light comes on....
