Rear bumper bar plastic fastenings
« on: 06 July 2012, 18:23:44 »

Hi wise gentlemen. I have just noticed on my 2.6 Elite (2001) that two of the plastic fastenings out of four are missing at the top of the rear bumper bar. The two fitted I fear are imposters ,although they look the job. I have ordered new ones from the local Vauxhall dealer and noticed the difference.  I checked with a friend who has has a 2.2 CD (2003),and sure enough his are the same as the supplied ones. I did not want to take the two out in case there has been a modification on the later Omega as my friend's model has the top strip colour coded with the car , unlike mine which is black. I would be grateful for you views. I attach two photos.

Thanks chaps.
It was a strong piece of black plastic tape craftily crafted over the fixing holes. I have now ordered the rivet type fixings which were missing. These secure the bumper bar to the boot body. If they had used 4 blanking plugs instead of two I might not have noticed as there is no apparent damage apart from three rivets being missing.
