Yes they will over here, there's plenty of good quality used 525d's around for little money. I bought one not so long ago for £1300 , 124,000 miles, full history, ran and drove like new.

How about a 2004/2005 Ford Mondeo V6 2.5 Ghia X with all the gadgets? or the 2 Litre Turbo Diesel Model?
just been looking at a few and some are in as new condition inside and out, not sure what a 7 - 8 year old car is like with the "rusting" problem

Got 2 Mk3 Mondeos (1.8 & 2.0) also had a 2.5 Ghia X Auto. Nowt wrong with the cars (had bolth from new & never let us down), good handling, NO rust, reliable, good cruiser and if the Ghia X then similar kit to the Omegas. Only downside is the seats are nowhere near as comfy as the Omegas - worse with full leather. A 2.5 V6 auto will give about 30mpg average. Good luck!

It was a 307cc, none of its bullshitting at all, but a very dippy woman who had no clue of prices and I took advantage of that, have a look around and you'll see some cheap E39's.

Thing is there are plenty of cheap cars around, that are diesel and will go on for ages. Just because it's cheap, doesn't make it a money pit. Loads of people are hard up and need quick cash, hence the reason for a lot of cheap cars. Of course all cars have consumables, you'll never get a car where nothing needs replacing. Oh of that age is top of its range, not sure if they did the Ghia X on the first shape ones.

Don't expect it to be massively better on fuel, its still a 2.0, would expect mid 30's average out of it.

Not necessarily Mark, I get an average of around 46mpg from my 2002 2.0TDCI Mondeo. .....mind you, it is diesel!

I have the answer to your prayers, 2002 bright Orange 30k Daewoo Matiz with dents on every panel except for bonnet and roof due to being a prev cat d. Will piss 40 mpg but you really wouldn't want to pull 80 mph in it! SE model so has FOUR speakers!!!!   Also acts as the best contraceptive in the world

My mates partner has one of them and i had to drive it one time after tidying the bodywork up , i think it could be very similar to driving a wheelie bin ..good on fuel though and rot like hell inside out pretty much like a ford KA 

P.s ... diesel astra tdi are good on fuel but for comfort you will need a cushion or 2
