lpg fault / low voltage warning
« on: 11 July 2012, 20:22:59 »

As above

Since I had the radiator / thermostat replaced, i've been getting the odd fault warning as above.

It normally happens after i've been giving it a good run and have started to slow down a little to let the engine cool down.

I have checked the alternator / battery / charge voltages and all seem to be spot on.

I've just had the stag software plugged in to clear the registered fault codes and noticed that the gas pressure had dropped down to around 0.9 bar at idle with the engine warmed threw and plenty of gas in the tank so i've just tweaked it upto 1.1 bar.

All the time you are driving it gently, it runs great.
Only after the above do you get the lpg bleeping its t*ts off and needing to turn off then back on.

Any ideas please ?

The pressure drop is normal as the diaphram in the evap beds in.

What exactly is the problem?

 ::) Ok, i'll take that one on the chin  :-[ :-[ ;D

Got my boot down.
Slow down for what ever reason.
Lpg controller starts bleeping like crazy / green led flashing very fast.  Car switches to petrol.

Press lpg controller button to turn off then switch back on again.
Sometimes it just switches to gas and runs with no problem, sometimes I need to switch it on and off a few times before it resets and starts to run on gas again.

As well as raising the gas preasure, I noticed the lpg switchover was set to 3 seconds.
I've altered it to switch over after 10 seconds.

That says to me that either the alternator, battery, battery terminal crimps or any combination of the above are dodgy ;)

I would suggest you do a full diagnosis using Kevin's guide  :y

But the Stag ECU can be a bit picky and will throw a fault at the smallest error sometimes (just like the GM one then :-X :D)

Just done a 95 mile round trip to the coast and back for my fish and chips and it run sweet as a nut  :y
No cutting out, bleaping or anything.  I wasn't taking it easy either  :-X ;D ;D ;D

I brimed the tank when I got back and the mpg worked out at 24.3 on lpg so well happy with that  :y

Understand what you mean about the terminals / crimps, i'll check them over the weekend while having a read of Kevins guide  :y

Thanks all  :)
