Some years back, when these things were first monitored ... I had a level of 8.2.. and the quacks were not concerned as the "norm" was 7 .... and a standard days food for a "living in singly" in the mess was ....
Breakfast - Full English fry up - Large, with all the trimmings
Lunch - something + chips ... it might have been ... eggs, ham, pie, sausage, burger, chicken
Dinner - Soup, Full Roast Dinner or Steak & chips, traditional pudding and custard
As dinner in the SNCO's Mess was served between 5 & 6 you were hungry later .. so supper was often fish chips and peas or a chinese takeaway .. depending which shop had the shortest queue...

Over the years the targets came down .. but my waistline went up !! .... a cardiac scare changed a few things .. weight is now reasonable and the level is pegged at 5.3 last couple of years. No pills just a change/control of diet ..

I also have one of those anti-cholesterol drinks every day .. benecol ... no idea if it actually makes a difference ...
