London Olympics lanes
« on: 16 July 2012, 14:17:00 »

Just heard that there's  special road lanes to be used by Olympic officials only. Joe public will be fined £130 if caught using them.
Glad I don't live there, would be a tad peed off with that.

Thats right, its a joke! there was a 32 mile tail back this morning due to the olympic lane opening.

Its getting right up my nose, all this talk about the athletes getting where they have to be on time but f**k the rest of us it seems!

I saw this on Tv this morning. I am glad I don't have that sort of commute anymore.

I think Olympic lanes are a necessary "evil" as part of having the games. If people can't get there (as in Atlanta a few years back) then it is 4 years training down the pan.

I had to smile at drivers reactions when they arrived at the Olympic lane. Gosh what is this, brakes on and try and get into lane two causing everyone in lane two to brake. Or taxis in lane 2 trying to get out into lane 3 at the last minute (why weren't they in lane 3 earlier). Then there were folk who just said dammit and kept going. Ah if only people drove sensibly. It was nice to see that the folk gits who blast past everyone else who have already correctly filtered in early still exist and still expect people to let them in. ;D ;D ;D

That's the whole essence of the Olymics, as far as I can see. >:( I will be ignoring the whole thing. :(

its not just Olympic lanes, traffic lights have been re phased, bus lanes used to be 7-10 & 4-7 now most are 24 hour, coach drivers picking up athletes from Heathrow have got lost on the way to Olympic park, parking restrictions everywhere & never seen so many camera cars waiting to catch motorists, just taken me 2 hours to travel 4 miles & the games haven't even started yet. So if anyone from TFL is watching, why make it difficult when with a bit more effort you coud make it f*****g impossible  >:( >:( >:(

You bunch of ungrateful gits!!!  ::)

Surely it's the least we can do after the IOC allowed the UK taxpayer to stage and pay £Billions for their sporting extravaganza!!!  ???

After all, we wouldn't want all those very important, influential, pampered, possibly corrupt officials to sit in traffic jams like the rest of us do you??  :o  What would they think??  ???

The dedicated Olympic lanes? - they can shove them up their fawn bastid costumes.

Furthermore, opps them sideways for failing to allow the beach volleyball players to display their wares so that some measure of comfort can be drawn by those of us who are deemed to be 'disadvantaged' >:( >:( >:(

And while I'm on the subject of this 'vast-waste-of-money-festival-spawned-only-to-satisfy-the-collective-ego-of-the-great-and-good-of-this-benighted-country', opps McDonalds for creating this ridiculous situation over chips, may they rot in their own rancid oil. >:( >:( >:(

The London Olympics are for London People. Not anyone else (we just have to pay for it, and not get any benefits).

I'll be glad when its over.

They arent even for London people. Many people who live within spitting distance of the stadium cant get tickets for love nor money. They also couldnt get jobs working on the site.It was for the most part built by eastern Europeans and largely controlled by the Russian mafia.
Its for the elite, the glitterati, the friends and customers of the sponsors etc.

God, they must have been scraping the bottom of the barrel. That'll be a great demonstration of the most vacuous depths to which country can plunge.
