Presumably you keep the petrol tank pretty full then ?

Normally fill it when it gets empty... Actually it's quite low at the moment so I could drop them a little, but I've always found the Omega listed pressures a little low for standard running and used to run 35 all around to get the best from the tyres ;)

Don't forget, in the estate the LPG tank is behind the rear axle and the tank on it's own (with associated mounts etc) weighs about the same as a tank of the golden go-go juice, plus I normally have another load of crap stuff in the car ::)

That said, I have 4 (very) slow punctures (leaking at the rim I expect) so they soon drop down to the lower, recommended setting.

All valid points (smartarse  :P),I also think the standard pressures are a bit low tbh, a couple more psi helps with rolling resistance / mpg,and doesnt imo noticeably affect grip. :y
Four slow punctures !!  :o...........break the beads, clean the rims up with emery, then pump them up again. :y

Four tyres near the end of their life so it'll wait until they are getting replaced ;)

There's 32 psi front & back on mine, later Elite rims with 235/45/17 and the rears are wearing in the middle as though they're over inflated. I went through a phase of increasing my tyre pressures to the higher settings shown in the handbook when towing, then thought that the extra weight on the back only really equated to an extra bloke sat in the back. Never had any problems.  :-\

during my delightful stay in Northern Ireland, there was a bizarre trend the numerous saxo/clit/corsa driving boy racers had. They would purpoesly increase the tyre pressure, to somehow replicate harder suspension.

This one dim wit stacked the car and wrote himself off. Anyway, susbsequent investigations found his tyre pressures to be double the maximum! Would that even work?

I used to go round with 32 front and 34 rear, because of the LPG tank.  I had excessive wear down the middle of the rear tyres, so its 32 all round now with no probs!  :)

reminds me of a courier driver who, due to his reputation, always got the knackered van. mk 2 astra 1.7 d. he got fed up with topping it up so put the whole 5ltr s of oil in.

you can guess the rest. :D

We drained 9.5l out of a 1.2 Corsa yesterday; took over an hour for the poor thing to stop smoking.

This one being a diesel, decided it didn't need the diesel supplied from the injection pump anymore as it had its own supply.

(run, run as fast as you can!)
