For the last 12 months, we've had an old washing machine round the back of our house. (I've been meaning to shift it. Honest!  ;))

Anyway, now we have the scaffolding up and space is at a premium, SWMBO and I lugged it through Nickbat Towers a couple of days ago. We got it through the front door and left it near the top of the steps. The intention was to lug it down the steps and heave it into SWMBO's Corsa and thence on to the dump. Not a job I was looking forward to. :( :(

Someone has since nicked it.

So now it'll get fly tipped somewhere once the valuable bits (case, drum, wire) have been removed... or left on a 'travellers site' to rot, I suppose.

scrap men round here do that left some stuff out so it could be moved to another house went in side and they nicked it. was told by neighbour the wated till went in side and 6 of them got out and put them in the van. cooker and a washing machine.....

sounds like a story I read on Internet bout a guy who put out a fridge with a sign that said free to good home. bout week later still there digit a laugh he changed sign to for sale $20, it was gone by the end of the day ;D

if we're going to throw any furniture or anything away we leave it out front with a note saying ''please take if you want this'' before taking it to the tip. everything we put out goes! lol

We have a nicer class of pikey here. I have pit two washing machines out, both with 'Scrap' scrawled on the top. Both times the lad knocked and asked if it was OK to take it.

In all honesty, they are like that round here...I put some computer cases out, marked 'please take'....but they still knocked :y

I feel sorry for the neighbours!!  ::)  ::)  ::)

On the face of it Nickbat comes across as an educated, reasonable, right thinking fellow but scratch the surface and he's a right old pikey with a back garden full of scrap!!  :o  :o :o  ;D ;D ;D
