Stick to genuine for brakes/pads. Patterns in this price range are universally crap, including the 'big name' brands.

GM springs are dear, KYB are much cheaper, if not quite the same quality.

Either get a Tradeclub card (via ABS, £25 a year), or PM andyc on this forum :y

Thanks, I have PM andyc  :y I will also contact the dealer tomorrow morning to get a quote. will need to find a garage who can do a job for me at relatively good price. not ripping me off!!
These jobs are relatively easy if you have a decent jack and axle stands.  I trust very few garages. Actaully, I trust none. Dealers included.

Rear shocks about £60 each, front disc/pad set £100 all from main dealer :y

Motor factors might be a smidgen cheaper for shocks, but the front discs and pads will be same price as Vauxhall, not worth not buying genuine :y WJ Kings is probably your nearest dealer

I have checked the nearest dealer is Tony Levoi in Romford, I will contact them to see. These pricves seem to be good value for money. the other day I went to a garage he quoted me £185-200 for rear shocks plus £100 labour +vat.
All prices quoted are 'tradeclub' prices, as virtually all of us have 'tradeclub'.

We are lucky to have a dealer, andyc, who will supply all members parts at TC prices (plus postage if you are not near him)

thats good, do you know by any chance where is he based?

I have vauxhall shocks and sachs springs. The shocks were good price on trade but the springs they wanted an absolute fortune. I've found the sachs to be very soft. So ill try kyb next time. Front disc and pad set cost me exactly one hundred notes. Until i took them back when i realised I'd measured them wrong and still have three quarters of material left lol. Shut up guys I'm still learning lol lmao

Just to add, you don't say which model your car is :-\ Self levelling shocks are VX only and are £95 each, which would suggest that the price you've been quoted is about right :y
