Looking to buy another omega and this caught my eye but the temp gauge concerns me a little any thought please

Nope, not all Plod 'wanna be in control'  It's just that those who wanted a 3.2 manual had to be Plod.

Thats what i was thing just the ad states the temp gauge goes to 3/4 then drops back to normal

It could be fan control is suspect. ie fans run at slow speed to start with, & then switch to high speed if that's not enough to bring the engine temp down enough. Could just be a minor point ......

Normal checks but main one being to check the coolant bottle for white/brown colour sludge .... if i found it had it i'd run away unless he took £200

Possible thermostat or as Andy said fan control issue.Wont be head gasket,so unlikely to be a huge problem. A lot of car for £400 imo.
Coolant tank looks ok as far as can be seen from the photo,but worth checking if viewing.

He rekons it is overdue a cambelt and does not use any water/oil and no leaks so what does a cambelt change cost these days

In general 3.0 Omega Elites & the previous Senators would have come with an auto. A manual was a no cost option
