Hello,

I'm about to do a rear donut bushing replacement, but I'm having a hard time understanding the angle / direction that the new bushings should be put in. In other word (english is my second language) I'm familiar with doing the job to replace them but I cannot for the life of my understand which way the new ones should be put in to avoid poor handling. I've read the varous thread on the topic, even the guide in the maintenance section where ChrisGixer explains it, but I still not understand it.

Could somebody please be so kind to explain it "for dummies"? Perhaps with a photo, that would be great. Thank you for reading

Same orientation as the old ones.
That being, with the solid sections of the bush pointing/aligned towards the dif.
Or to put it another way...Solid sections of the bush aligned with the subframe arm.

Unfortunately, I know for a fact that the old ones are randomly put in without paying attention to the direction.

Could you please explain further what you mean about the solid section? Sorry for not understanding.

No worries.
Looking at the bush from top or bottom you have a centre spacer that the centre bolt goes through. Sorrounding that are two void holes in a semi crirculer dumb bell shape.

The bit with no void hole is the "solid section" of which there are two.

So align the two solid sections, so they point at the dif.

Great thanks. So the solid sections should point straight toward the diff? I don't have the car up on jacks now but that should be pointing somewhat backwards and to the centre of the car right? The diff being at the centre of the axle is placed a bit further back on the car right?

Borrowed this photo from the forum and put an arrow on it. Have I understood it correctly?
