Already available since 2007 as the Holden Calais, about $Au 85,000 new, and makes an Elite Omega look underequipped :y

Can't see any reason why the shape would not be completely re-designed.

And in the European market Gm need to take on the Germans of Audi Mercedes and Bmw(spit) and their rear wheel drives, to make head way. No chance of that with the insignia.

Can GM compete on build quality though?

And I shan't be holding my breath for a v8 model btw.

Me neither Chris :-\ but... Buy the cheapest engine for the spec you want, 3.0 manual perhaps?, and drop an LS7 in :y you know it'll bolt straight in 8)

Can't be arsed to sign up, but there's a comments box.

I think...

"To the General.
Just import the Holden Commadore and stop buggering about."

...would cover it. :)

I think that was the (perceived) problem with the Omega, really.. the brand just isn't perceived well enough to support the price tag compared to a similar (though less well equipped, almost certainly) Deutschebarge..

..granted it seems to be a realistic perception when I look at how much interior trim has dropped off my mates Omega (and the same bits are starting to fall off mine - the plastic backs of the front seats, for example)..
