Special notes on V5C
« on: 11 August 2012, 19:42:45 »

In a bit of a panic here : Have sold SWMBO's w reg. Corsa to  neighbours just up the road .

We have had the car since June 2011 & it has been a totally reliable little workhorse for SWMBO doing her nursing rounds.

Only selling as she now has a new NHS car .

Just had it MOT'd ready to sell & went straight through no issues at all.

Am just preparing the paperwork ready for the neighbour who is coming to pay for the car tonight & I have just noticed item 3.on

the front page of the    V5C    Special notes : 1. Declared new at first registration

                                                          2.Substantially repaired and/or accident damaged indentity checked on 06 01 2010

Does this mean this car was accident damaged or an insurance write off earlier in it's life? :-\ :-\ :-\

Person who sold it to us did not mention anything about this if thats the case . >:( >:( >:(

Don't know if old V5c had this on as previous owner posts it off  ::) ::)

The car drives perfectly & has always done so .  MOT man did not say anything either  :-\ :-\ :-\

Any ideas guys  as don't really want to sell a write off to people I know  (or anyone for that matter )

TIA   Al :y

Sounds like it may have been a cat C  Al,although I would have thought it would actually say CAT C on the V5. :-\

He just said well your missus has been  driving about in it for a year or more. . . so it must be OK  ::) ::)

The thing is Al,the car was around 10 years old when it was written off by the insurance company. It could well have been something as simple as a dented wing or cracked bumper for them to come to that decision with a 10 year old Corsa. :y
