Back from out trip to the blue dolphin near Filey. We got off to a good start when the caravan they gave us was an upgrade to the one we booked. It was huge inside, really modern and with the balcony around so we were well chuffed, it was so really nice sitting outside with a cold beer.
. Lovely area, and so much going on round about. Scarborough, Bridlington and Whitby were all absolutely heaving with holiday makers. And the weather stayed dry as well so that was an added bonus.
Best meal ever at the Bull Inn pub in a small village near blue dolphin.. Gainsborough or something it was called, if your ever near by pop in, food was amazing.
Spotted quite a few omegas when out and about, mostly 02 plates and mostly silver!
So all in all a good time was had, we would definatly go back. Few more days off before returning to work on Saturday.

Next week it seems we will be spending at least 3 days in that area, but from our base in our Caravan (Static} in Ripon; Whitby one day, Flamingo Land another and the Water Park in York on another.... ::) ::) yes, Miss Vamps is plotting our week... :D :D  I wanted to grab a hotel for a couple of nights in or near Whitby and take if from there but Miss Vamps wants a friend which precludes family rooms, she is 12 now and so are her friends with changes things slightly ::) :( the times we live in,, :-X :-X possibly looking at two rooms as an option, save on travel and fuel..... :D :D

Glad you enjoyed your holiday.

Was it the Bull Inn at Gristhorpe, Filey?

Plenty of other nice places on the coast too. Flamborough Head, Staithes, Ravenscar.

Inland - Thornton Dale, Pickering nice towns and you can also head for the North York Moors with some of the best (actually it is the best!) heather in the world.

There used to be a Butlins not far from where you stayed. It was one of the largest Butlins and became impossible to fill so was closed in the mid 80's. We used to go there as kids on day tickets and had many a happy day. Just a derelict site at the moment.

Vamps- if you like ruined abbeys there are plenty of good ones not far from where you will be staying.

Varche... Yes yhat was the name of the village. Amazing food.

I had garlic mushrooms done with "real" batter not the usual shop bought veriaty to start, absolutely beautiful, then the mixed grill for my main, consisting of rump steak, gammon steak, lamb chop, pork steak, 2 pork sausages, onion rings mushrooms salad and a pile of home made chips. rather delicious!!  :)
Then sticky toffee pud with custard to finish. Fantastic!
Swmbo had sirloin steak as her main and a starter and pud. We had 2 drinks each as well, grand total of...£46!!!!!!

Well worth a visit if anyone's in the area. I'm considering moving there! ;D ;D

less than 24hrs back in the UK, and I'm back like a tightly coiled spring. The UK is full of self-centred arseholes who take 'free country' to mean it doesn't matter what impact their actions have on others, as long as they're alright, Jack  >:(
