Not dissing your 2.2 mate - its an Omega.
But if you think any Omega is a match for an SLS Merc you really are in your own world  ::) ::) ::) ;D ;D ;)  Get real  ;)

At 125mph the SLS is only "ticking over"  ;)

My boss has a 5.6 AMD Merc and that is quick enough

On the "PRIVATE" roads the speed limit is for everyone as we know so doesn't matter if you have a 3000000.0000L V100 engine the speed limit is the speed limit, Just depends who wants to push their luck on the "Private" Roads of the UK....

(Im always in my own world when driving ::) )

Did i mention this was done on a PRIVATE Road ?  :y

Is a Desmond capable of going as fast as 125 mph?

looks to me the yellow van is the fastest
Large queue ahead around the bend the van almost crashed trying to catch it pumping loud music out along the way.

I would have thought that to be a very good reason why such speeds are ill-advised given the typical road conditions of today.

Just, given enough time to get there. The Merc could get there in about 10s. The 2.2, probably about a minute. With a tail wind, downhill.

I never pushed my Desmond much beyond 60 I must admit - if I wanted a spirited drive I took the Prius out. ;D ;D ;D :-*

The bloke in the Merc probably couldn't see from crying so much with laughter at the bloke in the 2.2 Omega screwing the conkers off it he couldn't find second gear ;D ;D

I overtook a TVR Griffith the other day, ok the driver of the TVR was in the shop he'd parked outside but it amounts to the same thing

I can't believe you seriously think in anyway shape or form, that you were on par with it, keeping up or staying anywhere near a Merc SLS.

No day, no minute no second could any Omega be a match.

583 Bhp, from 6.2L in something which weighs the same as an Omega  ;)

I think 2.2's are fantastic engines, very reliable, dead easy to work on, smooth for a 4 pot if well maintained. But power, no. When you were hitting the red line keeping up, I suspect the Merc was not even trying, and changed down at around 3k rpm  ::)

As said she had plenty more in her, had her upto just under 140?? At night :-X Some time ago on a privat road like.. Even then there was a little left ... Maybe the 17" wheels has messed up the speedo or someone has done something to the engine or something who knows.. Either way I still left that Merc   ::)
