engine management light
« on: 01 September 2012, 11:44:09 »

Hi Guys,

Been having a little problem  :-[  with the old omega 2.2 auto petrol estate.

I have had the engine management light come on and stay on, then after two or three engine off and ons after say 20 miles or so it goes out,

Also, some times the light with a car and a spanner across it lights up too, and then goes out if i retart the car...

The battery on the motor, ant the best, ... so the questions are:

1. would the battery that is not 100% contribute to this fault, cuz the lights only activate on start up
2. if not the battery what are the possible causes of these problems, and is it serious.

any of you chaps any ideas

regards

GT

The "Engine" looking light is for emissions .
The "Car and Spanner" light is for engine or gearbox electronics or if its flashing its for the immobiliser.
You need to get the codes read properly to find out whats going on as it not happy electronically and emission wise  :-\
