Tick Over
« on: 06 September 2012, 13:23:40 »

What revs is my 2.6 V6 2002 omega meant to tick over at?  My Omega seems to tick over at around 500rpm but after a run and the engine is nicely warm, when I come to a standstill, it seems to rev higher at about 700-800rpm for a few seconds before falling back to the 500rpm. Could there be something wrong or is this a normal trait.

Could be ICV (Idle Control Valve) needs a good clean and also check for any Air Leaks on the Inlet side.
