Problem brake control
« on: 08 September 2012, 19:54:40 »

Hello,

I've a problem to unlock the parking gear because, probably,  the control of my brake doesn't  work all the time. I've seen sometimes break lights don't work either even if i push strongly on the break. Someone can tell me where does the problem come from ? I think the problem is the break sensor, perhaps ? Sorry for my poor english, i'm french.

Need a replacement brakelight switch, lives up behind brake pedal. To manually release the gear lever prise up the black plastic lever surround and press the yellow lever shown in pic

I think you need a new brake pedal switch. If you have cruise control, you will need a 4 pin switch.  :y

If only I'd actually clicked 'post' after I'd replied, I'd have beaten you with my reply. But I didn't, and had gone elsewhere! So when the red/pink message came up to say someone had posted ................. I just re-posted anyway!  ::) ::) :y :y :y

Thanks a lot for your answers.

I tried on Ebay this switch and I found only this :
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VAUXHALL-OPEL-OMEGA-HEATER-MOTOR-ACTUATOR-SOLENOID-SWITCH-GM-090512500-/380389070090?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item5890f4950a#ht_1150wt_1163

Is this car part is the good part for my problem according to you ? Have you ever removed this part ? Is it simple or difficult ?
Is this car part is not the same part for my car, can you tell me please which reference number is it ?

Thanks all !

Have a look at the guide on fitting cruise control to your car,http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=90533.0 it shows the brake pedal switches & where they fit. The difficulty is in trying to get yourself into the driver's side foot well & getting your arms up to the switch. Actually fitting it once you are ther is quite easy.  :y
