Car is 2002 2.6 Elite manual.

Fuse 15 had blown, we thought the fault was fixed when a faulty headlamp leveling motor was replaced, but after a few days of driving fine the fuse has gone again. I have the car parked up now and its not being moved and thankfully there is now appears to be a permanent dead shot. I have a test light in the fuse holder and its lit up all the time.

I have disconnected both front seat connectors so module, motors and heater elements are all isolated. I have disconnect both head lamp level motors and Xenon modules. I have disconnected the air suspension compressor under the front bumper, I still have a dead short.

I have TIS but cant get it to work on Windows7 64, trying to get an old XP machine to run it up. In the mean time, can anyone suggest other consumers I might be able to eliminate. What I really need is the diagram of the path from the fuse, as rather a lot of things seem to come off the fuse in question.

Any help gratefully received.

Bulbs been replaced lately (incorrect type?)

You mentioned reversing off the drive.

Yeah I did think of that, but when it failed a few days before it wasnt in reverse, although the head lights were on last time, but not this time.

While I was working on it, it just fixed its self, hate it when that happens, wasnt after manipulating anything in particular it just started working again.

To be honest the test light was still lighting up, I just tried putting a fuse back in, which I hadnt bothered to do before (they were just popping when I started) and it was ok, so it seems the test light process doesnt work, there must be some earth parth somewhere that lights the light.

Now I'm really worried its gonna die at any time, probably when its really needed.

I just didnt like the look or sound of the rear suspention pump, so I have removed the relay as a temp measure, if it doesnt faults again may try putting it back in.

Hate intermitant faults.

Could be heated seat, mine kept blowing randomly, tracked it down as the feed to heated seat had worn through and shorting.

Tested it by standing on different parts of the seat with the door open. Discovered it as when I leant out to pick something up, the fuse blew!

Well while at my dads I found an old XP PC i used to use.

Have no keyboard for the thing but have a mouse, Just got TIS up and running so at least I have a diagram now.

I am thinking it could be seat related but at the time I was testing it, i got inconclusive resaults, have left the trims off teh runners so seats can no be disconnected easier if it plays up again.

Should add, seat heater did not have to be on for fuse to blow

+1 for Tunnie's idea. I've had exactly the same issue on two Elite's with fuse 15 now, it was the wiring under the drivers seat.
I removed the seat, inspected the wiring and found it had worn through, just like Tunnie's experience.

My worn cable was right beneath one of the seat motors, not very easy to see..

Might just take it out and have a look at the weekend.

Need to find somthing or its just going to be ticking bomb.
