Can the crank case breather box be removed and flushed out

Yes but it's not worth the bother provided the small brass tube is clear ALL the way through.

Any pics of the little blighter , hows it held on then 

The brass connector was partially blocked last time i cleaned it but didnt work out how to take the breather box off to have a good poke around and flush it through .

I tend to let it soak in a blow of petrol slush it from side to side then blow out with air line

  Just read it , four bolts then but like you say carb cleaner or such like will flush it in place , was just wondering what it looked like inside if that got blocked  My mates was blocked solid with gunge , he wondered why he was smelling burning oil from his rocker's

Yes you can and you can even take the lid off and give it a proper clean, if you have the kit. I have three breather boxes with removable lids and i just swap the box for a clean one once a year

That's what Andy did, yes.

Personally, as it's fiddly to get at, and needs sealant on re fitting, I'd leave it be. Provided its clear.

Mine was blocked and as I didn't know what was in there or how it worked, I removed it to see what the problem was. On inspection it was clear, IMO, that all I needed to do was be more forcefull with a thin sharp implement to clear the blockage. There is nothing in there to break as you can see.

The purpose of adding to the original guide really, was to show people what's in there. Ie not much. Although Andyc had his full of gunk going by his guide in straight6 news.

Up to you obviously but it should be possible to clear any blockage and flush any crap through, then change the oil.

I suppose a scoop out of the larger breather hole will tell you how gooped up it is, then go from there...?

Thanks chris , ill be on the lookout for one at the breakers then modify that one . Never had any sludge problems myself but always handy to keep a spare
