What a place
« on: 24 September 2012, 13:49:26 »

Back from London couple of days ago. Fantastic city. Done all the touristy things. Loved the London eye, swmbo wasn't so keen  :)
The tube was a bit daunting at first but soon got the hang of it.
Only 4 hours on the train from Carlisle as well so will return later in the year for the weekend.  :y

Tourist bits aside, everytime i've been to london, I thought it was a shitehole full of non english speaking imigrants and smarmy buggers who think life doesn't exsist north of watford.

I lived just outside Hertford from 1989 to 1996, I last visited London, on business in 2001, Stayed a couple of nights in a Hotel. I decided to go for a wander one night and felt quite intimidated by the amount of beggars, some being quite aggressive, I soon made my way back to the safety of the Hotel and this is my Capital City....... :( :( :(

A great city.Said to be the greatest in the world by many people. It has its rough areas like every other city, but it has so many great things to see and experience,it wouldnt be possible to get bored,as long as you have no shortage of money.
Someone (whose name I cant recall) once said "If your tired of London, your tired of life". ;)

"Why, Sir, you find no man, at all intellectual, who is willing to leave London. No, Sir, when a man is tired of London, he is tired of life; for there is in London all that life can afford."

I enjoy visiting London for pleasure, at my own pace and convenience, but enjoy leaving even more :y :y

That said, I always enjoy driving in London for some reason :-\ :-\ Although I prefer to do it in a knackered old banger instead of my pride and joy ::) ::)
