Many Many years ago in a company Mk 1 transit, came over a hill, dual carrige down to 2 lane, met ice and lots of it, Tanker stopped on my side, car coming other way. :(  Touched the brake, and I mean touched, van went off on it's own, not quite sure how but ended in a 360 in an oval shape and managed to come to a stop, I collapsed on the steering wheel in relife as one tanker driver looked on in disbalife. major accident avoided cos of my skill, like hell, just bl**dy good luck with a bit of play experience thrown in. :)

Many years ago, not long after I had passed my test, I was in a transit and was coming up to a set of lights, they changed to green, car infront went to go but stalled, I hit the brakes, locked up, tried cadence braking but was running out of road so started to turn to the left...... spotted 7 series BMW (looking brand new!) about to pull out of side road and made the split second decision that the Ford Escort would be cheaper to hit!

Reminds me of when my miggy saved me, only had her 3 months when an arctic pulled out in front of me and over a crossroads - i was so close to him when he pulled out that he couldn't see me from other side of cab (i was to his left) :o.
Realised how good ABS is and that my reactions aren't bad either that day :y

He jumped out to see if i was ok and i replied with "yeah but could do with some new pants" :-[ ;D ;D

He did well to catch it but not sure why he then hammered it off up the road again. I would have though the bulge in the seat of his pants would have reminded him to be a little cautious.

that all seems a little contrived......

He was ripping and i wonder if he lifted mid corner and suffered a bit of lift off under steer and the back end stepped out, it is possible to do on the Quattros.

Normally with a diesel spill you can see it on the road, the only thing you can see is a shadow to the right of the car, the offside wheel wouldn't have hit that.....

Well held all the same, at one point he is going lock to lock  ;D
