VAT Alert
« on: 11 October 2012, 12:19:45 »

My rotisserie chicken was £5.40 instead of £4.40 in asda this morning. Apparently the 20% VAT is now being added to certain hot foods.
I told them to stuff it, and I don't mean with sage and onion.

Kids schoolbooks etc here in Spain went from being either 4% or 8% VAT to 21 % (21 is the new austerity level). Parents have to buy their childrens books.

Expect more changes to VAT in Britain when the sterling crisis comes and the ratings companies downgrade Britain

Not just kids books either.

Funerals just went up from 8% to 21%, even those funeral plans you can set up from when you are 18 or so!

That's never going to get cheaper even if you could DIY!!!

Theoretically you could buy second hand kids books for school, depends on your point of view, but a second hand funeral??????LOL

I could do you a good deal. Bring the body up to us. Funeral pyre or burial. You could have extras like used Castrol R on your pyre (2 euros) but the overall cost would be in the tens of euros ;D ;D ;D
