Omega 2.2 Diesel...Any good?

Hi!...Looking at 2.2 diesel Elite,2003 on a 52 plate....Dont know much about diesel model...Are they any good?....Do they have cam-belt or any other issues I need to be aware of?...What should I expect to pay for one?...Thanks,Rew.

2.2 dti's have a cam chain, so no worries there.  They are a very good engine, returning impressive mpg figures for such a big, heavy car.  The engines are very good, though not without problems.  As ever, it's done to how well maintained they are.  Leaks in vac system can cause problems, turbos can go, and egr valves can play up, but again if they are well maintained these engines are easily capable of covering mileages of 300k+... Hence why many end up as taxis...

Price will depend greatly on mileage and condition, but the dti's are holding their value far better than some of the more thirsty Omega models, especially in elite trim...

It does look tidy but aren't Elite's meant to have standard leather ???
