Picked up an 11 plate Shogun on Tuesday, been using it for the past few days, and I can honestly say it's possibly the only car I've ever got in and thought this will easily last forever. Absolutely everything about it feels strong and robust, everything about it is manly, and it's got one huge equipment list, the best bit of that being a Rockford Fosgate sound system (I wasn't even aware they still existed). I can feel me forming a mutual attachment to it to be honest

Do NOT drive it with the windows open ...

Probably the noisiest car - on the outside - I have ever driven !! Wonderful with the windows shut and the sound system on ... but the racket when you open a window is incredible !!

Also, has the turning circle of the HMS Queen Elizabeth II + HMS Ark Royal combined .... if you want to do some tight maneuvering ..... just forget it !!

Pulls like a train, will go on forever, a tad thirsty... built for farms not towns IMHO !!!

How old was the one you drove? This is quite noisy I agree, and a 3.2 4 Pot which I thought odd. Turning I find good, but it needs a lot of wheel work in tight spaces I totally agree . I have taken it on the rough stuff only briefly mind you, it went really well and didn't get stuck once .

Really. Had no end as hire cars in Cyprus. All 2.8TDs. Without fail, all were knackered, including some with only 50,000km on clock. Interior falls apart, ride is horrid, A/C is pathetic. Everything about them, yuck!

Woefully incapable on anything worse than a good track, will happily get stuck in sand, and a top speed of about 80mph downhill, backwind.  Always amusing as Bro and I just end up slipstreaming the other, overtaking, then the other would slipstream and overtake.  Inability to not be able to turn around on a football pitch makes it even worse off road.

Admittedly, hire cars are "special"

Recently, not been able to get them, as all hire companies have ditches them in favour of others. Izuzu Trooper seems to be the usual there now, and dispite being utterly useless and unreliable, still manages to be a million times better than the Shogun.

Can't keep it, only bought to sell on, however I would have one to keep if it were Black, and had tinted windows .

Really liked that shogun, had hired one here for a week. Diesel but still Thirsty, had a good long option list: RF media system w/sub, heated seats, auto lights, rear cam etc etc +7 seats so all rounder was a good enjoyable motor!  But also agree was at times quite difficult in small spaces
