OOPs, Halfords error
« on: 13 October 2012, 10:24:11 »

Bit of an embarrasing one. Took some bulbs back to Halfords that I had lying around for yonks and didn't need/use. Popped them at the till and explained had no receipt but wanted some other bits, no probs Sir just bring what you want over. Takes a G3 claybar and couple of bits to till and exhanges them for the bulbs., £18 ish all in.

Sorting through some papers last night and found the receipt for the bulbs, £3.05 when I first got my trade card, genuinely thought it was from well before then  :-[  . Should I flay myself ??

No doubt some would say its dishonest & stealing, but you get very little for free in life. As Del says its a result!  :y

I need to go back to Halfords, one set of the bike carrier roof bars I bought are missing the U bolts  >:(

In this situation it is solely their fault for agreeing to issue a "store credit" (which is basically what they did) without seeing a receipt ;) :y

Just my opinion mind

Just interested in getting opinions of the OOF conscience comittee, I can justify it to myself as they ripped my mother off by charging for but not fitting a gearbox mount many years ago and they probably still do this kind of thing!

Does seem there is a loophole to be exploited should a trade card holder want to though!
