I would have told them to put the old tyres back on and left. Falkens are around £80 delivered in that size. Kwik fit certainly made a healthy profit today.

Robbing barstewards mate - you've been well and truly shafted :o :o

As said I'd be onto Kwiktwat with alternate quotes and demand a sensible cost reduction.

Only those who cannot be bothered to shop around go to Kwik*hit. Despite their ads they scorned by those who know them for what they are. Plus even with the 25% off they still more expensive than many others at normal prices. Add to that the con job of 'advising you that you also need.....etc and it demonstrates their intention of ripping you as much as they can. :-\ Halfrauds are the same.
:( >:( Tried those NEXEN tyres you ask about (all four on) in the wet on a good road surface and they gave me the fright of my life.......Took em off and re-sold them. Might be ok when driven by a frightened nun at low speeds and a feather on the pedal though.
NanKang are the ones that stick like glue in all weathers but if you can afford it then use summer tyres in summer and dedicated winter ones in winter....Continental being the leaders. Before them I used Michelin Primacy Pilot on the rear and Duinlop SP SportMaxx on the front with never a slip and I drive hard....ask DLK. If in doubt then fit the ones that the manufacturer fitted as OEM!
Cheapo tyres are cheap because they are not well designed and use only basic materials that can pass the regs........
Let the buyer beware cos you only get what you pay for and its your life at stake...and that of others too.
If you can't afford new then use part used that are unrepaired with no wall damage or scuffs. Look inside the tyre for any signs of damage before they fit them onto the rims. If they are an honest dealer they will let you......if not walk away.
Nuff said...... ;)
