Mind you, I was on the phone to BT for 4 and a half hours earlier today. I never knew BT had that many departments, and I've worked there for 24 years ;D

Wish I could speak to someone at BT. All I ever get is 'automated' or some foreigner that I can't understand. For a telecoms service they make it bloomin difficult to speak to a human.  >:( >:(

that's the idea, it's a deflection process at minimum cost. If you get pissed off and hang up it can't be that serious, according to them.
What they don't realise is the oversees call centres are that hopeless they may as well cut them loose, but it's the cheapest way to provide 24 hour "support"

Bloody Indian call centre hung up on me, as the useless lump of organic waste couldn't get her head around the type of line I had  >:(

To answer the title:- because they pay them peanuts ::) ::) hat, coat  ;D ;D

If it's a foreign site I just say " Sorry I can't understand you, can you transfer me to an English call centre please". Trouble is then you end up with a real muppet. ;D ;D
