I know this topic has been posted here many times before - as recently as May 2012, but I managed to do the unthinkable this morning and locked my keys in the boot of my 2001 CDX Omega. Naturally all the doors are locked, as I used the remote to open the boot and not the doors. I did this just to put a shopping bag back into the boot on my way to work. I thought it would be efficient and save time.

I have had the car for 2 years and have always narrowly avoided this situation. Now I am in Ireland on a contract and I think the spare key is back in the UK. I don't think the car is deadlocked, as I don't know how to do that. I always lock the car with the remote, so if that deadlocks the car, then it is deadlocked!

I am no stranger to auto-mechanics or auto-electrics, but the only idea I can think of is the coat-hanger down the driver's door thing. I will try that this evening when I get home from work (luckily I can walk to work). However, since I have never managed to unlock a car that way, does anyone have a better solution that would avoid me having to call out a professional locksmith? Thanks in advance
