Due to Miggy's sad demise/right off
I am now haveing to begin breaking her up :'( :'(
Possibly the trickiest item is the NCDC 2013 with Colour Information Display
I seem to remember that the 2 units are paired together and must not be seperated
Would someone kindly help me with the correct procedure?
Or guide me to a "how to" would be much appreciated
To enable me to remove them safely from the dashboard console
Then reinstall them in my next Miggy without risk of electronic crash/failure??
I have miggy's security card with the radio/immobaliser codes
Unfortunately I'm unable to confirm what mode the unit was in on impact/shut down
It seems to be logical that Tech 2 could be required to re install them in differant car
Is this correct?
Thanks in advance :y :y

Im 99.9% sure (although dont just take my word for it) that it isnt a problem to physically seperate them, remove them from the car or unplug them from the loom etc. The thing is they must be reinstalled together in the next vehicle they are fitted to,otherwise tech 2 and security code for the pair will be required.
In other words, trying to use that headunit with a different screen or vice versa is when you will start to run into problems. :y

No issues, although we are seeing some cases where one half is corrupting itself.   I have my theories about this.

Take the Traffic Naster loom, and as much of the black plug loom to the CID as you can get, in case the replacement car wasn't factory fitted with this unit.

Thanks for your info
I now know my replacement Omega will have a NCDC 2013 with a black/orange screen
It's also an Elite so according  to this I should be OK simply switching the existing NCDC 2013
Along with it's companion CID over to the replacement Omega
Help much appreciated :y :y

Yes, swap the screen AND the NCDC, and should be OK :)

Keep hold of your old carpass, in case you need to change anything in the future :y

Now have another query :-\
The one key that came with Migsy is I think a 3 button key
It has a 3rd button with a brief case logo on it
Also it has no LED signal
I don't know what this button is for in relation to an estate
My main problem is I need a spare key
So am I better haveing a copy made of this key
The key tech No that came with the car is a 3 digit No on a seperate VX card to the carpass
Or is it possible to have the 2 keys from my old car reprogrammed to Migsy and have the blades recut for Migsy?
These are 2 button keys
Certainly would appreciate help & advice :y :y

3 button key is for the saloon, the third button being a boot release. I highly doubt someone has retro-fitted remote tailgate release but it's worth checking by pressing and holding the third button for a few seconds. Sounds more like someone has fitted a cheap replacement cover ;)

As for keys... (I think) if the remotes are the same make then the old ones can be re-programmed with a Tech 2 and the car pass and you just need new blades (and transponders) cut and programmed. Make sure you keep at least one working on your old car though, just in case.  :y

Thanks LD,does this mean that the cicuit board of a 3 button key will work in a 2 button case
And vise versa?

I'd reprogram your old keys to the new car. As long as nobody has been near it with a illegal code reader, should be possible :)

Thanks TB :y :y
Could be possible your correct as regards a chordy code reader
The cars VX Car Pass has a 4 digit No with a single letter prefix as does the old cars this Pass is not an original plastic VX one
But is what appears to be a VX paper printout one
However the new car also has a second card sized 4" by 3" and I quote entitled "Technical Information"  Important: Key number
and has a large character 3 digit No It also carries this message:-

The attached key number must be recorded and kept in a safe place.Replacement keys
are available from your Vauxhall dealer but can only be provided by quoteing this number

Is it possible to transfer all the necessary security codes to the new car by simply transpanting the old cars hardwear to the new
If so what hardwear would be needed one thing that springs to my mind is the steering lock assembly with its transponder
This way the ncdc 2013 with it's cid could switch hopefully with no problem

Shame you're in the back of beyond, Cliffo. I reckon we could otherwise easily resolve this.

The 3 digit number *may* be locking wheel bolt key number.

If you get into realms of swapping immobiliser, you need to swap engine ecu as well.

Personally, I'd keep the 'new' car as original as possible. Even if it involves taking Mrs Cliffo out for the day...  ...to Nottingham (MDTM) ;D

Email me photos of what documentation you have (security wise) :y

Big Thank you TB :y :y
Your absolutely spot on :-[  ;D ;D
It defo is the wheel lockbolts code
On checking the card size against the lockbolts case base
Proof is to be seen in  matching wear scuff marks on inside of case base and card
The card has obviously lived in the case for some time
Then it's been parked alongside the Vauxhall Car Pass in the manuel wallet
I didn't realise what it was as I've never had VX locking wheelbolts with a keycode
I'll Email you a copy of the Vauxhall car pass I now feel much happier this will be OK
Pics are not my strongest point
Will need a little extra time for this
Winifred & I will be happy and enjoy a journey to the nearest Tech 2
Might be best to wait untill I have the NCDC 2013 with companion CID installed in the new car from the old

Cliffo, assuming the new car is also a 3.2, why not swap the Ecu, ignition barrel, alarm module, ignition code ring, tailgate barrel and drivers door barrel from the old one :y

That way all your current keys will work perfectly, and it doesn't matter how many copies of the new cars key are around, as they won't work :y
