Accel pedal slack
« on: 29 October 2012, 14:24:20 »

Right, last mention of my recently changed ex mani gasket I promise. All is back together and appears fine apart from my accelerator pedal feels weird and doesn't appear to have the travel it did before doing the job so car won't rev up completely. Anyone had this problem before? It appears the throttle end is free to move as it should but something is amiss at the pedal end, is it mounted in a particular way at the bulkhead/pedal??

Have you put the cable back in the right place?

One firm I worked at used to do that deliberately to their diesel Transits in order to slow them down a bit ::)
Didn't work though  ;D reckon the fitter got fed up repositioning it every morning, as it only lasted a fortnight :-X
