You don't have to live there
Just strip it out, get a bunch of lads in there to rebuild it with say 15 grand limit to play with.
Sell it as a virtual new build for 50 grand.

Hey presto, 20 grand profit for a months graft  :y

If had cash, buy it out right & as above strip it and rent it out. Or just buy it cash and hold on to it for a few years, say around a decade? Nice little investment there i think

Investment ? Well maybe, on a very long term basis.

If you read the article it really is a seriously crap area, plus the house has been completely stripped bare. No I wouldn't have it as a gift. The only investment possibility would be to get it, try and make it secure, and hope that the area improves.

Make it fit for human habitation then rent it out.

I reckon you'd be looking at about £400-£500 each month. DSS welcome. ::)

Might make a good investment. :y

Location, location, location!!!  ::)

Yes you could buy it for a pittance, spend £15,000 making it nice, but because it's in a crappy area, you'll find that decent people won't want to live there and you'll end up with crappy tenants who won't look after it and don't like paying rent!!  ::)  If you bought it to do up and sell on, you probably find it'd get stripped out again whilst waiting to be sold!!!  :o

You could be buying a whole lot of hassle with this one....  :-\

You would make more money by buying and renting out a parking space in London than you would buying that house.
Having said that,parking spaces in London can sell for a hell of a lot of money,depending on which area they are in.

You would need 24hour armed guards with orders to shoot to kill to protect your 'investment' on that Estate Mark! It was too expensive a liability at £750 tbh  :D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Agreed lots of boarded up houses the council / housing associations cannot rent out, it was said recently that there were some 4 bedroom houses available but no one wants them.... :( :(  It's not all doom and gloom, there are some quite respectable people live on this estate... :) :)
