turning off a dashboard light?
« on: 04 November 2012, 00:50:57 »

hello everyone :)

since having a manifold leak, the light has been on (looks like an engine) its for the exaust i see in the book, but its not gone out.

will it reset itself after x amount of miles, or does it need turning off ?

is there a way to reset it myself? pedals and dashboard buttons or something ? or do i need to get it plugged in ?

Is this for your 2.5 95 car as in your profile?

Once the falt is fixed, it should go out (assuming its engine management light).  See Maintenence Guides for how to do a "Paperclip test", and post up the results here :y

No, there's still a fault, that's what the engine management light is telling you.

i only ran it for 30 seconds the other day, im guessing thats not enough to turn the light out?

the engine light has been on since the exaust manifold gasket was blowing. now its not. so hopefully itŽll pass its itv (MOT) with the light on ;)

You need the codes read to know why the light is on. It could be any number of things.

Far more likely to be on becasue something has not been connected back up e.g. temp sensor, rear multiram, egr (or possible other)
