v6 alternator plug

whats the easiest way to get to the plug i want to disconnect it to see if its that thats draining my battery

It was 2 cables held on by 13mm / 8mm nuts on mine  :-\

You'd be better off disconnecting the cable at the battery end and measuring the current down it. Alternator probably needs to come out to disconnect it.

any ideas which cable it is? theres a main one and then 4 fused ones.

Are you looking to isolate it at the alternator or battery end ?

i want to disconnect it to see if i stops the drain on the battery would have thought alternator end be better

Too get at the terminals on my alternator, I removed the ............

Bagpipes
Utility belt

Then I droped the alternator and let it lay on top of the plastic engine tray.
If you do it this way, you can lean over the front and play with the 2 wires with ease.  :y

It's the thick one that's crimped onto the battery terminal rather than bolted on. It goes to the starter and the alternator. Starter is unlikely to cause a problem so you can just unbolt the other wires from the battery terminal, remove it from the battery post and measure the current. :y

i charged the battery to full on saturday and touch wood its lost 0 charge on the car since then. and all i did was re charge the battery and connect the bonnet shut switch back up.
