Hill street blues, many years ago.
Modern day Sherlock Holmes series recently on BBC HD
Luther
Sherlock, BBC HD iirc
House, as someone said earlier

Actually, theres a definate pattern there.

Watched Heros for a while, then went off it.  :(
Sherlock was a good, interest attempt at something new, and I think it worked. Just not for me - I couldn't graps the character in modern day. But I applaud the beeb for trying :y

Doctor Who probably deserves a mention. Again, another I can't get in to, but the relaunch seems to have been a success. Maybe I'm too old for it now, as it is really a kids programme (not that I mind kids programmes, I mean, LOTR has to be in my top 10 films)

Top gear I'd not personally put in this category. I will do a comedy one soon :)

Lovejoy used to be frequently on. Not really my think, but suckered in because my grandma used to like it, and I spent a lot of time with her in the holidays. Same with "nice" programmes like All Creatures Great and Small and Take the High Road
